Gary & Dot Houde
Gary and Dot have served at Pacific Islands University since 2016.
Previously, Dot taught English as a Second Language in NY and FL for approximately 10 years before homeschooling their two sons. At PIU, Dot has served as Liberal Studies Chair and English Instructor. While there, her other roles include assisting the Academic Vice-President by advising students in choosing classes, helping students explore potential careers and even counseling those on academic probation.
Gary worked in the utilities industry for several years before the Lord answered his prayers to attend seminary and ultimately to serve as a Bible instructor at PIU. Using his teaching and tech skills, Gary conducts classes face to face and online, primarily freshman level biblical studies with an occasional Geography course.
The Houdes seek to serve the Lord and make Him known wherever, whenever and however He leads. Their hearts are committed to equipping Micronesians to know and grow in the Lord and to serve Him wherever He leads them. It is always a joy to watch young believers mature in their faith and bear lasting fruit for the kingdom of God. Whether students express themselves in papers for their classes, in the decisions they make, or in the way they conduct themselves, young men and women’s lives are clearly changed by the Holy Spirit.
Gary & Dot’s grown sons are both working- William in the IT department of a hospital in Dallas, and Andrew in the accounting office of a car rental company on Guam. Your prayers on behalf of the entire Houde family are deeply appreciated.
