In April 2025, we had the great joy and honor of hosting the Watoto Children’s Choir at our Liebenzell Retreat campus for three unforgettable nights. After spending six months traveling throughout the United States—ministering in churches across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond—these remarkable children from Uganda arrived ready for a time of rest, refreshment, and renewal.

Before their arrival, I had the blessing of attending their performance at Sparta United Methodist Church. It was there that I first met the children, along with their devoted aunties and uncles. I was immediately touched by their beautiful smiles, angelic voices, and the deep love they so clearly have for both God and His people. Their reverence for the Lord and the way they carry His presence is something truly special, something we can all look up to.

Their time at our campus was a breath of fresh air. Surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature, the children played games, explored the outdoors, and enjoyed meaningful moments of fellowship. Our in-house chef lovingly prepared delicious meals each day, which they received with such gratitude and grace. It became a daily joy to hear them offer a blessing in song after every meal—an expression of thanks that touched the hearts of all our staff!

One of the standout moments was a lively pizza party, full of music, laughter, and joyful connection. It was more than just an evening of fun—it was a celebration of fellowship and the bond we share in Christ. I will never forget hearing the lovely sound of their laughter while at our campus. It was the kind of joy that lingers in the air and leaves a lasting impression on the heart. Our staff cherished every moment spent with our new sisters and brothers in Christ!

The Watoto children have truly become part of our Liebenzell family. Their presence was a blessing, and we believe there is a special anointing over their lives. It was our joy to offer them a place to rest and be refreshed. Their futures are bright, and we look forward to seeing how God will continue to work powerfully through each of them.

We are reminded of God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

It’s clear that God has beautiful plans for each of these children. We’re so thankful for the time we shared and pray for continued favor, strength, and protection over their ministry as they journey on!
