About Michael and Baerbel Pflaum
Michael and Baerbel Pflaum have been serving in Zambia, Africa since 1986 with Liebenzell Mission Germany. Baerbel`s grandparents served with Liebenzell Mission in China and she was raised in Japan as a missionary kid where her parents also served with Liebenzell. Michael was raised in Germany where his parents served with Liebenzell, and they both completed their missionary training at the Liebenzell Mission Seminary in Germany. Michael has earned his Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies at Columbia International University (Columbia, SC).
Michael and Baerbel see themselves as “global villagers” serving Jesus Christ through Liebenzell Mission in order to win precious souls for eternity. Their pioneering ministry work includes church planting in the Northern Province of Zambia and country-wide gospel crusades with the Jesus Film has been part of their evangelistic outreach. They are co-founders of the Amano Christian School (Zambia), and Michael currently serves on the Board of Trustees as Vice Chairman. The Pflaum’s are involved with project development and management, and they provide team leadership for the Liebenzell Missionaries at Amano in Zambia.
Aviation is another interest of Michael’s, and he has been able to use his passion for flying to serve the Lord. He served as a Bush Pilot in Zambia for different organizations during the past 25 years and is currently a pilot with Gospel Wings Zambia, which was founded by his son Martin.
The Pflaum’s are blessed with three married daughters, a son and daughter-in-law, and ten grandchildren. Their American children currently live in the USA, Japan and Zambia, and three of them serve in overseas missions.
