Rivers in the Desert
Rivers in the Desert is an academic program of Sevilla Theological Seminary located near Spain. The name of the school is derived from Isaiah 43:19 āBehold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.ā
Chris Matthews serves as the president. The project started in February 2020. The program runs very much like a Bible Institute but is not established as one, because the country where it is located is not open to the gospel. The program is preparing students for church leadership roles. Because of the sensitive nature of its location, professors and lecturers travel periodically to teach at this school. Twelve adult students, both men and women make up the student body.
Program needs: $500.00 per month to cover classroom space, transportation of professors and a mid-day meal for students.
