Home away from home for home schoolers
The Liebenzell Retreat Center was buzzing with activity as the Learning Connection homeschool group, a regular guest for six years, celebrated Valentine’s Day with crafts and cookies. With around 140 families, the group needs spacious facilities for their events and for the children and youth to be very active.
“We love coming back here for our events,” said Heather Kohler, director of the group. “The center offers great spaces for pool-time, games, recreation fields, and even barbecues for our year-end graduation.”
The facilities perfectly accommodate groups like the Learning Connection. “Our expansive grounds offer space for so many types of groups, activities and gatherings—both daytime and overnight events,” says Sharon Diehl, director of the Liebenzell Retreat Ministries and Conference Center.
Heather praised the flexibility of the staff, stating, “They’re very accommodating and can work with our schedule, even last minute. The facilities are perfect for children and youth.”
The Learning Connection also appreciates the retreat center’s Christian mission. “We love the center’s mission to reach the community for Jesus,” Heather said. “We invite friends and extended family, giving us an opportunity to share the gospel.”
