About the Karissa Burns
Karissa Burns’ desire to explore cross-cultural missions began a few years ago when she attended a program designed to expose participants to cross-cultural church planting among unreached people groups and to ignite individuals to consider full-time missions. A year ago, she was able to serve in Kenya with her mom which deepened her desire to explore the life of a missionary and what that would be like. She is gifted in learning languages and would like to see the work our missionaries are doing in Bible translation among the Awa People in Ecuador.
Karissa is excited to join the Ecuador team for the summer of 2026 as part of Liebenzell USA’s Journey Summer apprentice program! As part of the program, she will serve alongside our Liebenzell missionaries while being exposed to both city and more remote missions work as she travels in the majestic Andes mountains of Ecuador to help with church planting and outreach activities including working with children’s and youth programs. Please pray for her as she prepares to serve and as she comes alongside our team in Ecuador to help, serve, and share Christ.
