About Trinity Church

Trinity Church is a new church plant in Santiponce, Spain, the heart of the 16th-century Spanish Reformation. Santiponce is the town where the famous monastery is located, where a group of Spanish monks became Protestants, and fled Spain just months before the Spanish Inquisition began burning “heretics”. With this church we plan to relaunch historic Spanish Protestantism at the church level. For example, our confession of faith is the one written by the monks who fled the monastery in Santiponce and started a Spanish-speaking church in London. The church works closely with Seville Theological Seminary, and the two entities have the potential to start a church planting or missions movement in Spain and beyond. Our initial needs are for start-up costs such as purchasing Bibles and advertising, and then for ongoing costs such as outreach and discipleship events.

Internship Program

In addition to supporting our church, you can also support our internship program. Most students have to work during their schooling (and while they pastor), which can have the doubly negative effect of unnecessarily lengthening the duration of their studies and distracting their focus on learning. Our internship program is designed to give students the opportunity to learn without having to work: for one year they will be able to intern in the church and attend Seville Theological Seminary without having to work. This is how future pastors and missionaries are trained best! If you would like to give to our internship program, donate above then please email Andrew Messmer: almessmers@liebenzellusa.org.
